Winterfest Boat Parade. Coral Springs. Photo by Dr. David Chen.
Congratulations to Ranger Frank and his festive crew, who won 1st place in the Julington Creek Light Parade!!
The Osprey was transformed into a floating fire truck sponsored by the St Johns River Base at Echockotee, North Florida Council’s Boy Scout Camp.
We had such a blast participating in the Julington Creek annual boat parade! Thanks to our SJRK River Patrol Captains Lowell and Dee Stephens, the Kingfisher made an appearance! This weekend, look for us on Doctors Lake for the parade near Whitey’s Fish Camp!

Jacksonville went back to normal after Hurricane Irma. We observed cargo ships, fishing boats, and sport boats using St Johns River to connect the city to the sea. Lessons after the storm. Recovering is a task of all our community and visitors.
One week after Hurricane Irma crossed Florida from the Keys to Jacksonville, Florida, we collected several lessons to be used in our Management courses.
Here are the points that we are covering in our courses:
- Emergency Preparedness #GlobalManagement
- Weather Data Analysis #GlobalSystems
- City Leaders During Storms #GlobalLeadership
We continue these lessons after Hurricane Maria and Mexico earthquake. Be prepared for emergencies.
A picture can teach different kind of lessons. Exploring a new city is an opportunity to learn about culture, history, economics, living style and much more. This is just an example. Venice, Italy uses water ways to function as a dynamic city. #exploringvenice #transportation #tourism #history
